Melissa Minor, DVM

Veterinarian

Years in Practice: 17

Education: Kansas State University

Associations: AVMA, KVMA, KCVMA

Most of Dr. Minor’s childhood took place in Kansas City area, living in Prairie Village since the age of 8. She attended Kansas State University and graduated from veterinary school there in 1998. She returned to the KC Area after graduation.

She initially entered the professional because of her childhood cat, Harriet, and her fascination with biology. Now, she loves the challenge of creating an environment at the hospital that reduces fear and stress in both dogs and cats, and thereby making the entire experience a positive one for both the patient and the client. She also enjoys getting to know families, sometimes multiple generations. Every day she is learning something new, and there is a surprise around every corner.

Dr. Minor knew that this was the right career for her when she realized how she can help people through difficult decisions with a very important part of their family.

She has two teenage children at home. She loves to travel when given the opportunity. She also loves reading and being outdoors, and spending as much time as she can with her family and friends.
